Many guys want to dump their girlfriends – but this can be a tricky thing. I know I don’t feel comfortable making girls cry – and sometimes that’s inevitable when breaking up. When breaking up with someone, you must keep thinking about how the other person will feel instead of just considering your own feelings. To be a gentleman, you must care about other’s emotions more than your own. Always remember, if you are not in touch with your own feelings, you cannot be in touch with those of others.
In this article, I share some valuable advice on how to break up with your girlfriend and yet make her feel comfortable.
•Start preparing her mentally IN ADVANCE to bear the burden of a break up. Tell her that whilst she is not for you, she is so lovely that any guy would love to be with her. You can also complement her on qualities possessed by her. That will make her feel more inclined and loved. Loving oneself always gives strength and such people are able to cope up with a break up more easily.
•Decide on a place to announce your break up. Declaring this news at your place or her place is not a good idea at all. If it is at your place, you cannot leave until she has finished her drama. If it’s her place, she will remember the day again and again and it will become difficult for her to cope up with the after effects of breaking up.
•What should you say to her? Try to figure out her nature and what her reaction may be. Be strong and yet genuine in announcing the break up news in front of her. She may ask many questions and may think that you are angry with her over something. You need to be honest enough to tell her that you have thought everything through and are only taking this decision after deep consideration, and not impulsively. Explain to her why you have decided to move on in life without her. Leaving her without any reason will make her wander over useless thoughts and make things difficult for both of you.
•Your next step will be to stop communication with her. Many guys keep on exchanging messages and other stuff with their ex even after a break up, and lose dignity in a relationship. It not only reflects your weak persona but the chances of your moving forward will also be minimized as a result.
If you do not love her, she deserves to be with a better person in her life. Give her this chance and respect your feelings too.
