Guys often email me asking how they can strike up conversations with girls when out on the town. Their normal complaint is that girls go out together in groups, and that they don’t feel confident in starting a conversation with them… something about “packs of hyenas being out to eat me” lol. It’s ok guys, Dating Dave has first hand experience here. Approaching a group of girls in a bar or other setting can be nerve-wracking, but with the right approach, you can make a good impression and potentially start a relationship with one or more of the women.
Be confident but not overbearing: Confidence is key when approaching anyone, but be careful not to come across as overbearing or aggressive. Introduce yourself politely and respectfully and let the conversation flow naturally.
Start with a friendly conversation starter: A simple “Hi, how’s your night going?” can be a great conversation starter. Avoid using cheesy pickup lines or inappropriate comments that could make the women feel uncomfortable.
Be interested in them as people: Women want to feel valued and respected as individuals, so take an interest in their lives, careers, and hobbies. Listen actively to what they have to say and respond thoughtfully.
Don’t be pushy: If the women are not interested in continuing the conversation, don’t push it. Respect their boundaries and move on.
Consider approaching the group as a friend: If you approach the group as a potential friend rather than a potential date, you may find it easier to build a rapport with the women. If a relationship develops naturally over time, that’s great, but don’t put too much pressure on yourself or the situation.
Be respectful of their time and space: If the women are clearly not interested, don’t continue to try to engage them. If they seem uncomfortable, it’s best to leave them alone. Remember, everyone is entitled to their own space and boundaries.
Approaching a group of girls in a bar or other setting requires confidence, respect, and a genuine interest in getting to know them as people. By following these tips, you can make a good impression and potentially start a relationship with one or more of the women in the group. And guys, Dating Dave says to never be shy… because, after all, “girls just want to have fun”!
