Speed dating happens when individuals go to a place looking for someone compatible to them for love and romance. Speed dating nights are typically setup by event organisers and they usually ensure an even number of males and females. The women normally sit at a table. Every 2 minutes or 5 minutes (dependent on the event rules) the guys rotate from one table to the next, ensuring that throughout the night all girls have met all guys. The idea is that you get a few minutes to bond with your guy / girl and work out if you like them enough to pursue a future meeting.
After an hour or so, depending on numbers, when everyone has met everyone (so to speak), each girl and guy is given a number (normally 3 or 5) of “i like you” cards. They write their name and phone number on the cards, and attach them to the photo of the guy or girl they liked on a pushboard. Then everyone goes to the board and collects the i like you cards from their photo. With any luck the girl or guy who likes you will still be around and you can chat – or worst case, you can phone them…
If you get no cards put on your photo, don’t be despondent. It’s still been an enjoyable evening – and speed dating is not the only way to meet other people. If you get lots of cards, that’s great – and a good sign that you’re probably a really nice person that others warm to. Dating will be easy for you!
Speed dating is available in most major cities around the world. Enjoy your time Speed Dating!
