What is love? Everyone uses the word “love” in daily conversations, and it’s featured in millions of movies and songs. We talk of love, but what is it, and how will we recognise it?
Love can be described in many worldly ways: romantic passion, physical desire, deep intensity, intimacy, sharing, company, friendship, pure, comprehensive, selfness, natural.
Religious readers will know this description of love from the Bible, in 1 Corinthians, Chapter 13: “Love is patient; love is kind. Love isn’t jealous or braggart or self-important or rude. It doesn’t implement its own way: it’s not irritable or resentful; it doesn’t rejoice in wrongdoing, however rejoices in good deeds. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.”
Regardless of which descriptions you like / believe / follow, if you have what you believe is love in your life, run it against those descriptions above. They may have different sources, but they remain very similar in message. If most or all of those descriptions match, then you probably have found love!
Just as there are different ways to describe love, there are different kinds of love. Love between a parent and child – unrequited love. Friendship love – looking out for others and sharing experiences. And relationship love – the best kind in my opinion. Relationship love has no limits. It fully satisfies. It feels amazing! And this is the kind of love I want all readers of Dating Dave to experience.
So now we love what love is, how can we attract love into our lives? I believe that you tend to get what you give – so start by giving love if you what to receive it. Start by being kind, patient, selfless, caring towards others – and let them do the same to you. This is the start of love. And then tell that person you love them – daily if needed. Whether you’re not yet in a relationship, new to a relationship, or in a long term relationship, you can never tell someone you love them too often. You can meet people in bars, parks, or work – these same qualities and approaches remain the same for all.
Imagine your world if love is patient in all aspects. Wouldn’t the world be fantastic if everybody had patience? Love is patient – and it starts with everyday people just like you. If you want love, you must be kind, because love is kind. Kindness is directly connected to patience. Patience endures injuries and insults and kindness pays them back with smart deeds and kind actions. You can take a bad seed, and turn it around with love. There is nothing love cannot conquer.
Go out and find love now. Find love, create love, make love. Live your life full with love!
